PUBLIC NOTICE
REGARDING THE ADOPTION OF THE REGULATION FOR THE CERTIFICATION OF PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS AND INSTALLERS
The Energy Affairs Administration (EAA), by virtue of Act No. 133 of July 20, 1979, has the authority to adopt regulations establishing minimum efficiency requirements that will apply to solar equipment, and the individual components of the same, to be manufactured and sold commercially in Puerto Rico. On the other hand, Act No. 248 of August 10, 2008, states that an electrical solar equipment must have a certification declaring that the same complies with the norms and specifications established by the EAA and a certification declaring that the equipment has been installed by a person certified and registered by this agency, among the conditions that a taxpayer must fulfill to be able to get the tax credit established in said law for the acquisition and installation of solar equipment.PUBLIC NOTICE
REGARDING THE ADOPTION OF THE REGULATION FOR THE CERTIFICATION OF PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS AND INSTALLERS
For the reasons stated previously, and pursuant to Article 4 of Act. No. 73 of May 28, 2008 and Act No. 128 of June 29, 1977, as amended, the AAE proposes to adopt the Regulation for the Certification of Photovoltaic Systems and Installers. The proposed regulation plans to establish the requirements and the process for the certification of installers and major equipment in photovoltaic systems that will be installed, sold or manufactured in Puerto Rico.
Pursuant to section 2.1 of the Law # 170 of August 12, 1988, as amended, the EAA notifies that the text of the proposed regulation will be available for revision during the next 30 days starting on the date of publication of this announcement, during working days, from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 p.m., at the Energy Affairs Administration located in the 8th floor of the Cruz A. Matos Building, Highway 8838 Km. 6.3, Sector El Cinco, Rio Piedras. In addition, the Regulation will be available at the Internet page www.aae.gobierno.pr.
Written comments will be received, throughout the period of 30 days following the publication of this announcement (October 31, 2008) at the EAA during working hours as before mentioned, or through the Internet at the electronic address This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
